New Beginnings

Greylock Recovery’s New Beginnings Program is a transformative and compassionate treatment track designed to support expectant mothers on their recovery journey. Rooted in evidence-based care and a commitment to dignity, this program provides the specialized medical, emotional, and peer support needed to navigate both sobriety and motherhood in a nurturing, stigma-free environment. At Greylock Recovery, we walk alongside each mother, ensuring she has the tools, care, and community to build a strong, healthy future for herself and her child.

Comprehensive Support at Every Step

At Greylock Recovery, we recognize that every journey is unique, and pregnancy in recovery brings its own challenges and opportunities. Through our New Beginnings Program, we stand beside you, offering unwavering support, expert care, and a compassionate community to nurture both your well-being and your unborn child’s health. Together, we’ll create a path forward—one built on strength, resilience, and hope for a brighter future.

Greylock Recovery has built a comprehensive network of partnerships to support women in its New Beginnings Program, ensuring they receive holistic, integrated care throughout their recovery journey. Collaborations with OB/GYN teams at multiple hospitals, including SVMC, Cooley Dickinson, and Berkshire Health Systems, provide essential prenatal, perinatal, and postpartum care for pregnant women in recovery. These medical partnerships ensure that women have consistent access to specialized maternal healthcare, allowing them to receive Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) in coordination with their pregnancy care. By working closely with hospital-based specialists, Greylock Recovery ensures that women do not have to choose between recovery and medical care, reinforcing the program’s commitment to non-stigmatizing, evidence-based treatment.

Greylock Recovery’s program integrates a range of therapeutic modalities designed to address the unique needs of pregnant women:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Equipping women with tools to identify and change harmful thought patterns.

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): Teaching emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.

  • Relational Trauma Repair: Fostering healing from past trauma that may contribute to substance use.

  • Prenatal and Postpartum Education: Offering classes on prenatal health, birth preparation, breastfeeding, postpartum recovery, and understanding the special needs of newborns affected by prenatal substance exposure.

These therapies are complemented by group sessions focused on building strengths, identifying supports, and empowering women to envision a stable and fulfilling future for themselves and their families.

Beyond medical care, Greylock Recovery has also established strong partnerships with social service organizations that provide critical family and parenting support, housing assistance, and trauma-informed care. Organizations such as 18 Degrees, Moms Do Care, and Elizabeth Freeman Center offer resources for parenting education, domestic violence support, and peer mentorship, while collaborations with DCF, Berkshire Connections, and NELCWIT help women navigate family reunification, childcare, and legal advocacy. These partnerships allow Greylock Recovery to extend its support beyond clinical treatment, ensuring that women in the New Beginnings Program have access to the social, emotional, and structural support necessary to rebuild their lives, strengthen their families, and maintain long-term recovery.

Dedicated Case Management and Expert Guidance

Greylock Recovery provides expectant mothers with a Case Management Team equipped with specialized training to address the multifaceted challenges they may face. From navigating legal and regulatory hurdles to accessing housing, childcare, and social services, our case managers function as advocates and guides. This embedded expertise ensures that women feel supported at every stage of their recovery and pregnancy.

At Greylock Recovery, we believe in transparency of information and process. Our team ensures that mothers are fully informed at every stage, from prenatal care to postpartum recovery, eliminating uncertainty and building trust. We foster an environment where mothers can ask questions, voice concerns, and feel heard without fear of judgment.

A Safe and Nonjudgmental Space

Greylock Recovery provides a nurturing space where expectant mothers feel safe and supported. Our approach is rooted in compassion and understanding, ensuring that mothers experience childbirth in an environment that celebrates their recovery journey and the arrival of their child.

By combining specialized preparation, personal support, and holistic care, Greylock Recovery ensures that every expectant mother is equipped to approach delivery with confidence and peace of mind. Our goal is to create a positive and empowering birthing experience, setting the stage for a healthy and fulfilling start to motherhood.

We recognize that recovery is not an isolated journey—it involves the family and support networks of the expectant mother. Greylock Recovery’s program includes:

  • Family Education and Counseling: Helping loved ones understand recovery and learn how to support the mother and child.

  • Childcare Training: Preparing mothers for the demands of caring for a newborn, especially those with special medical or developmental needs.

  • Postpartum Support: Offering continued care and counseling after delivery, ensuring a seamless transition into motherhood.
